At Patanjali International Yoga Foundation in Rishikesh, we offer a focused, deep and healing course in Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda — blending two ancient sciences into one life-changing experience. This isn’t just a course; it’s a journey into the core of yogic healing, rooted in time-tested practices from the Himalayan lineage.
Yoga Therapy focuses on how yoga can directly help with common physical and mental health issues — like lower back pain, obesity, diabetes, and stress. Ayurveda brings understanding of your doshas (body constitutions), diet, and herbs for balance. Together, they offer a complete system of self-healing, detoxification and restoration.
You'll study, practice and live the wisdom of India in its most authentic environment — by the holy river Ganga, under the Himalayan sky
“In Ayurveda, food is medicine. In yoga, your breath is the doctor.”

“Healing begins the moment you stop running from your own breath.”
To maintain the integrity of the course, we require that students:
This course is not for absolute beginners.
You don’t need to be an expert — just familiar with the basics of yoga and ready to go deeper.
The group is large enough for group dynamics, but small enough for true connection.
This course is designed and taught by Dr. Jitendra Das and his team of trained yoga therapists and Ayurveda specialists. The environment at PIYF is both disciplined and nurturing — with a strong focus on spiritual growth alongside technical learning.
You will experience:
“Yoga can treat the root. Ayurveda can nourish the soil. Together, they restore the whole tree.”
“When you learn to listen to your symptoms, you begin to hear your soul.”
Rishikesh is not only a yoga city — it’s the source.
Here, ancient healing knowledge wasn’t written from books but came from meditative insight by saints sitting beside the Ganga. That energy is still alive.
This makes Rishikesh the ideal place to learn Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda. The vibration of the mountains, the sound of flowing water, the simplicity of ashram life — all create a field where true transformation can happen.
In this course, you will:
“In Rishikesh, healing doesn’t start from the body. It begins in the breath.”
Because healing is not just about knowledge — it’s about atmosphere.
Rishikesh gives you the right space to unlearn stress and remember stillness. People from around the world come here, not for entertainment, but for peace.
Why Rishikesh?
This course is built with practical depth, not shallow theory.
Each topic is taught with real application — so that you can both understand and share the knowledge.
You will learn:
This course gives you a map — not just of health, but of balance.
“The body doesn't ask for perfection. It asks for attention.”
Patanjali International Yoga Foundation is not a business — it is a living tradition.
Our school doesn’t teach yoga to the world. We offer yoga as it is.
Here’s what makes us different:
“Come as a student. Leave as a seeker.”
There are many schools teaching yoga. Very few teach it with purity and purpose.
Why choose PIYF?
“A good teacher gives knowledge. A true teacher reminds you of your own.”
This course is rare because it integrates both systems as they were meant to be:
This isn’t a teacher training. It’s a healer’s initiation.
“The breath is your first medicine. The mind is your last patient.”
Most yoga schools offer trainings.
We offer real transformation.
Why we stand apart:
“Yoga doesn’t fix the body — it reveals the body’s wisdom. That’s what we do here.”

Sage Patanjali
Patanjali describes the third limb of yoga, which is the asana, as "Sthiram, Sukham Asanam" - Mean asana the position should be comfortable and stable, that is all the asana is about. Because "comfort" is such a misused word, maybe a closer word to "sukha" in English would be "ease."
