With all my heart I want to thank Patanjali Internatiinal Yoga Foundation for wonderful stay and for strong and intensive practice on 300-hours yoga teachers course! My teachers at Russia also completed this course, so there I had no doubts where to study yoga! I saw their professionalism, devotion and yogic life style. It was hard, sometimes very-very hard, but I see significant progress in yoga!
I was very impressed with the teaching approach. Teachers shared not only their knowledge, but precious and personal experience. Secrets, tips, know-how and lifehacks in yoga. You can never find it in Internet of on Russian yoga courses!! Every teacher is brilliant professional and a yoga practitioner.
Alignment classes corrected my body posture in asanas, and I'll bring this experience into my own teaching practice. Philosophy classes brought deep understanding of Yoga Universe. Yoga nidra helped to relax and release stress. Pranayma classes taught to breathe properly and concentrate. And everyday Hatha yoga practice with Guru-ji gave me strength, tolerance and kept my tapas hot)))
I also completed a Sound Healing course!
Pandit-ji and Lakshman-ji created a cosy home-like atmosphere with absolutely delicious meals, cleanliness and order.
Hope to be back one day! I really felt myself like in a family!!

What Makes Yoga in India Stand Apart from the West?

Western yoga often focuses on the physical form. In India, yoga is lived as a sacred science of life.

At Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, we carry forward the teachings of the Himalayan masters — yoga that purifies the mind and stirs the soul, not just shapes the body.

What makes yoga in India different:

  • It is a way of life — not just a practice
  • Chanting, fasting, meditation, and silence are embraced
  • Diet, discipline, and conduct form its backbone
  • Study of sacred texts complements posture work
  • Teachers guide as spiritual elders, not trainers
  • Yoga is transformation — not performance
“In truth, yoga doesn’t take time — it gives time.” — Ganga White

Sage Patanjali

Sage Patanjali

Patanjali describes the third limb of yoga, which is the asana, as "Sthiram, Sukham Asanam" - Mean asana the position should be comfortable and stable, that is all the asana is about. Because "comfort" is such a misused word, maybe a closer word to "sukha" in English would be "ease."
